In Paris, France, on 5 April 2022 – PWH, a real estate collective investment fund, which owns more than 6,000 housing units through its subsidiary POWERHOUSE HABITAT, a leading residential property company for affordable housing in France, announces that it has just been awarded the Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) label.

This demanding label distinguishes funds that implement a robust SRI methodology, leading to measurable and concrete results. It is issued by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance for 3 years following an audit by AFNOR, a standards association, and subject to meeting annual requirements.

This label recognizes POWERHOUSE HABITAT’s environmental and societal commitments to affordable housing which are at the heart of its core purpose.
For example, over the last two years POWERHOUSE HABITAT has carried out targeted actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in all of its single-family homes, enabling it, for instance, to achieve class A (low-carbon) energy performance certificates (so-called DPE) for homes built in the 1980s.

POWERHOUSE HABITAT has already achieved an overall improvement in the energy efficiency of 250 houses, thus reducing tenants’ energy bills by 66%, i.e. a gain of about three classes for the energy performance certificate.

Throughout France, POWERHOUSE HABITAT relies on a network of a thousand local SMEs and VSEs to maintain and refurbish its properties, promoting local employment and helping develop an ecosystem of companies specializing in environmental renovation.

Based on this successful experience and having established an action plan to improve the ESG rating for each of its assets, POWERHOUSE HABITAT is asserting itself as a major responsible investor in residential property.
